Dr. Mohammed Abdulwahid Jayyas, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the College of Education Ibn Rushd and a member of the Higher Ministerial Committee, along with Dr. Shaimaa Abdulaziz Abdulhamid, a faculty member in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education Ibn Rushd, University of Baghdad, participated in a meeting of the National Higher Central Committee held at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to discuss the prevention and reduction of suicide cases. The meeting was held under the sponsorship and supervision of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers.
The meeting discussed a number of key topics and issues related to efforts to prevent and reduce suicide cases, as well as strengthening coordination and cooperation among the relevant ministries and institutions. These efforts aim to develop appropriate measures and raise community awareness of this serious phenomenon.
This participation reflects the University of Baghdad and the College of Education Ibn Rushd for Humanities’ commitment to actively contributing to national higher committees, strengthening the role of academic institutions in addressing societal issues, and supporting government efforts to promote psychological and social security and stability.
