The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the launch of the Electronic Application Portal for the Qur’an Memorizers Channel, open to graduates of preparatory education across all branches and specializations.
The Ministry stated that applications can be submitted through the Qadam Platform application or via the Studies, Planning and Follow-up Portal: https://dirasat.mohesr.gov.iq. Applications will remain open until Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The application is open to students currently enrolled at public and private universities at all academic levels, as well as graduates of the 2025–2026 preparatory education year, across all branches and specializations, who have memorized the Holy Qur’an in its entirety.
The Ministry urges applicants to follow the official website of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the announcement of the results of the Qur’an memorization examination. The examinations will be conducted by a specialized committee comprising international judges at the following designated locations:
- National Center for Qur’anic Sciences in Baghdad, Palestine Street, near the Turkmen Club, as well as the Iraqi Center for the Holy Qur’an, Al-Sabaa Abkar Complex, for applicants from the governorates of Baghdad, Salah Al-Din, Nineveh, Kirkuk, and Diyala, both male and female.
- Dar Al-Qur’an Al-Kareem in Holy Karbala, for female applicants from the central and southern governorates.
- Qur’an Institute affiliated with the Abbasid Holy Shrine in Holy Najaf, for male applicants from the central and southern governorates.
Benefits of the Qur’an Memorizers Channel
It is worth noting that the Qur’an Memorizers Channel provides a number of educational benefits for students who have fully memorized the Holy Qur’an. These include a 30% reduction in tuition fees for students admitted to or continuing their studies through the Private Education Channel at Government Universities, as well as a 50% reduction in tuition fees for students admitted to or continuing their studies in evening programs.
Furthermore, students admitted to or continuing their studies through the Private University Education Channel are exempt from tuition fees, subject to an annual examination conducted at the beginning of each academic year by the competent committee to verify that students continue to have the Holy Qur’an fully memorized.
The benefits also include allocating 2% of Central Admission seats across all specializations, with an admission score up to three points below the minimum Central Admission score for the 2026–2027 academic year. This benefit will apply after the electronic application form is made available to graduates of the 2025–2026 academic year, enabling them to register and prioritize their preferred study options.
