The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Baghdad held a doctoral dissertation discussion entitled “Turkish-French Relations (1993–2017)”, presented by Ahmed Qais Jassim from the Department of History, specializing in Modern History.
The study examined Turkish-French relations between 1993 and 2017, highlighting the shifts between tension and hostility on one hand and positive cooperation and trust on the other. It also analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of the relationship in light of historical developments between the two countries.
The study concluded that Turkish-French relations during this period were characterized by “tense cooperation,” rather than a linear pattern of improvement or deterioration, instead following a fluctuating course shaped by changing political and historical circumstances.
