The College of Education Ibn Rushd for Humanities at the University of Baghdad held a discussion of the master’s thesis entitled “Developing a Criterion-Referenced Measure of Momentary Feelings According to the Affective Behavioral Domain,” submitted by Zahraa Hadi Mohsen, a researcher in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, specializing in Measurement and Evaluation.
The examination committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Anwar Mahmoud, with Prof. Dr. Khalid Jamal Jassim as a member and supervisor, and Prof. Dr. Balqes Hamoud Kadhim as a member. Prof. Dr. Noor Jabbar Ali from the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Diyala also joined the committee as an external member.
The research aimed to develop a criterion-referenced measure of momentary feelings according to the affective behavioral domain.
The study reached several key findings, including the determination of the cutoff score for the measure and the classification of students accordingly. In addition, the five-point response scale alternatives showed a statistically significant difference between the observed and expected frequencies.
The researcher recommended that counseling centers make use of the developed measure to identify the levels of students’ feelings, emotions, and affective attitudes.
