The University of Baghdad has achieved a new academic accomplishment by ranking first among Iraqi universities in the classification issued by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which measures university performance in achieving the strategic goal of higher education within the framework of the National Strategy for Education and Teaching (2022–2031).
The ranking results showed that the University of Baghdad secured first place among participating Iraqi universities, based on a set of key indicators, including internal efficiency, scientific research and innovation, quality and academic accreditation, governance of higher education institutions, as well as external efficiency and the alignment of educational outcomes with development requirements and labor market needs.
This achievement reflects the university’s success in implementing its strategic plans and development programs aimed at improving the quality of education and scientific research, strengthening innovation, and promoting institutional governance in accordance with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the national strategic objectives for education.
This advancement further confirms the leading position of the University of Baghdad as the oldest and one of the most influential Iraqi universities in the fields of higher education and scientific research. It also demonstrates its continued commitment to achieving institutional and academic excellence, serving society, and contributing to national development.
