Ministry of Higher Education: University of Baghdad Tops Iraqi Universities in QS World University Rankings 2027 .The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that the QS World University Rankings 2027 has released the results of its latest edition, in which 1,500 universities from more than 100 countries competed.

The Head of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, Prof. Dr. Salah Hadi Saleh, explained that the official ranking website showed competitive positions for Iraqi universities. The University of Baghdad ranked in the 801–850 range, followed by Al-Nahrain University and Al-Mustansiriyah University in the 1001–1200 range, University of Anbar and Tishk International University in Erbil in the 1201–1400 range, and the Universities of Karbala and Kufa in the 1401+ range.

The QS ranking this year evaluated universities based on several key criteria, including research (50%), employment outcomes (20%), teaching experience (10%), international engagement (15%), and sustainability (5%).
