A faculty member from the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education Ibn Rushd for Humanities, University of Baghdad, chaired the Scientific Committee of the Third International Conference on the Arabic Language and Its Literature, held under the theme “Arabic: The Sun and Center of Languages” at Knowledge University in Erbil.
Professor Dr. Alaa Mohammed Lazim led the conference’s Scientific Committee and presented a research paper titled “The Rhetorical and Pragmatic Structure of Arabic Proverbs: An Analytical Study.”
The conference was sponsored by the Iraqi Academy of Sciences under the direct supervision of its President, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al Yaseen, with the participation of the Iraqi University and Middle East University, under the theme “The Arabic Language: From Heritage to Modernity.”
In recognition of her outstanding academic and scientific contributions, Dr. Lazim received the Shield of Excellence from the Assistant President of the Iraqi University, Professor Dr. Khamees Awwad. She was also awarded honorary shields from the Iraqi Academy of Sciences and Knowledge University, in addition to a certificate of appreciation presented by the President of the Iraqi Academy of Sciences.
