Under the patronage of the President of the University of Baghdad, the Ramadan University Five-a-Side Football Championship for faculty members concluded on Wednesday morning, April 8, 2026, with an exciting final match between the College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences and the University Presidency’s Student Activities Department team at the main stadium in Al-Jadriya.
The final match witnessed an exceptional competitive atmosphere and a highly professional performance from both sides. The game ended with a (3–1) victory for the opposing team, securing the championship title, while the College of Education Ibn Rushd team claimed second place after delivering an outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
At the conclusion of the sporting event, the University President praised the remarkable efforts and technical level demonstrated by the faculty members, emphasizing that the ultimate goal of the championship is to strengthen collegial bonds and promote physical activity among university staff. Both teams were honored in recognition of their impressive performances.
It is worth noting that the final match had originally been postponed during the holy month of Ramadan due to severe weather conditions and heavy rainfall recently experienced in Baghdad. The match was held today, concluding with a well-deserved celebration honoring the top-ranked teams.
