Distinguished International Participation and Official Visit Enhancing Academic Cooperation in the United Kingdom

In a new academic achievement added to the record of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Suad Al-Taie, faculty member at the Department of History, College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences / University of Baghdad, participated in the First Manchester International Conference on Humanities, Applied Sciences and Artificial Intelligence, held from 9–12 February 2026 at one of the colleges of University of Manchester in the city of Manchester, United Kingdom.

This participation reflects the active international presence of the University of Baghdad in global academic forums, particularly conferences that integrate humanities with modern applications of artificial intelligence. Such engagement contributes to expanding research horizons and strengthening scholarly exchange with leading international institutions. The participation was crowned with Professor Dr. Suad Al-Taie receiving the Medal of Creativity in recognition of her distinguished scientific contribution to the conference.

On the sidelines of the conference, Professor Dr. Suad Al-Taie paid an official visit on 10 February 2026 to the Iraqi Consulate in Manchester, accompanied by a group of Iraqi academics, following a kind invitation from the Iraqi Consul, Dr. Wael Al-Rubaie.

The meeting included a detailed discussion of the Iraqi delegation’s participation in the conference, as well as the importance of academic field visits to foreign universities in promoting international engagement. Discussions also addressed the possibility of establishing academic partnerships and cooperative agreements between Iraqi universities and international institutions, in coordination with the Iraqi Consulate, in a manner that supports the advancement of higher education and scientific research.

This distinguished participation and official visit represent an important step toward strengthening the global academic presence of the University of Baghdad and the College of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences, while fostering sustainable international academic collaboration.
