Prof. Dr. Nidal Hanish Shbar, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Registration at Ibn Rushd College of Education for Humanities, University of Baghdad, welcomed today, Monday, 24 November 2025, the Syrian student Nadia Maher Said, one of the Arab students admitted through the Study in Iraq program for the academic year 2025–2026, enrolled in the Department of English Language (morning study).
enhance academic openness, promote cultural diversity, and attract Arab and international students to study in Iraq. It also reflects the University of Baghdad’s vision to expand scientific and academic cooperation and support cultural exchange between Iraq and sister countries.
Following the instructions of the esteemed Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. ‘Allawi Sader Jazi‘, the College ensured that all necessary arrangements were made for the incoming students from their arrival at the airport, including accommodation in dormitories such as Al-Ta‘awun, Al-Risala, or Al-Wahda complexes, providing a safe and comfortable environment to facilitate their integration into university life.
Prof. Dr. Nidal Hanish Shbar warmly welcomed the student, emphasizing that the University of Baghdad and Ibn Rushd College of Education place great importance on providing a supportive academic environment for all Arab students, offering guidance and necessary facilities to ensure their academic success. She also provided a brief overview of university regulations, student support programs, and introduced the student to the college’s facilities and academic departments.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a dialogue session was held with the Arab students residing in the dormitories to address their questions and needs, affirming the College’s and University’s commitment to providing all necessary facilities to ensure their academic success and comfortable stay on campus.
