The Industrial Advisory Council of the Ibn Rushd College of Education for Humanities at the University of Baghdad convened an expanded meeting on Tuesday, 28 July, under the chairmanship of the Dean of the College, Professor Alawi Sader Jazaa.
The meeting aimed to review the academic curricula, detailed course specifications, and program- and discipline-level learning outcomes submitted by the Advisory Experts Committee. The discussions focused on updating these components to ensure their alignment with the evolving requirements of the labor market in the field of humanities education, with particular emphasis on the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education.
Participants also conducted a comprehensive review of the current curricula and course offerings to evaluate their compatibility with the professional and employment needs of both the public and private sectors. Furthermore, the Council explored strategies for enhancing the educational outcomes of Ibn Rushd College of Education for Humanities in ways that broaden graduates’ career opportunities across governmental and private institutions while strengthening their integration into diverse professional fields.
The meeting concluded with the official approval of the newly developed academic program, recognizing its significant role in advancing academic performance, improving the quality of learning outcomes, and ensuring their continuous alignment with emerging knowledge, labor market demands, and sustainable development priorities.
This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
