A master’s thesis was discussed in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at our college, entitled (The effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral program in developing emotional sobriety among those recovering from drug abuse) by the student Riam Yas Khudair, specializing in (psychological counseling and educational guidance).
The thesis aims to find out the existence of statistically significant differences after the results of the scale for the behavioral program during the follow-up test. The researcher adopted the scale (Meller, 2014) in measuring emotional sobriety. The psychometric properties of the scale were stated and shown in its final form. It was applied in a pre-test and a post-test on the two equivalent (experimental) groups. And the control group (after knowing the results of the impact of the cognitive behavioral program, and the results of the research showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the members of the control group in the pre-test and post-test on the emotional sobriety scale.
The results of the statistical analysis also showed the effectiveness of the cognitive behavioral program through the use of the calculated Wilcoxon value of (4) which is not statistically significant when compared to the tabular value of (0) at the level of (0.05). Therefore, there is no difference between the post and follow-up tests.
