The Guidance Unit in our college held a scientific symposium in the Geography Department entitled (The digital divide and its negative repercussions on the level of education), in which Dr. Abdul Sattar Abboud Kazem and Dr. Nadira Jamil Hamad, the unit official, presented a lecture. It dealt with an overview of technology and its tools. Technological progress has led to the emergence of new methods and methods of indirect education. Using the computer and its innovations, satellites and satellite channels, and the international information network, in order to make learning available to those who want to learn, and the digital divide refers to the gap between those who are able to use the Internet because they have the necessary skills and material ability, and those who cannot use the Internet, and the symposium came out with a set of recommendations that It addresses the most important negatives and problems as a result of the digital divide, the most important of which is improving the level of per capita income and increasing affordability, as well as addressing the gender gap in Internet access.
