About the Unit

About the Women’s Affairs Unit

The Women’s Affairs Unit was established within the structure of our college based on the letter from the Department of Studies and Planning No. D.T/2265 dated 26/11/2023 regarding the creation of Women’s Affairs Units in the formations of the University of Baghdad. Ms. San Jameel was assigned to manage the Unit.

This Unit is responsible for addressing and supporting the needs of Iraqi women in all areas, protecting their rights, and empowering them to serve our society and beloved country, as women represent half of society and nurture the other half.

The Unit achieves these goals through organizing seminars, workshops, research, and training courses, in coordination with other institutions when needed, and by leveraging the expertise and knowledge of specialized organizations. The Unit aims to raise awareness and provide the necessary education for women, in addition to offering material and moral support to this vital segment of society, recognizing women as one of the most important pillars of sustainable development in any community.

This development aims to enable women to gain economic and social power, achieve self-reliance, continuously improve their conditions, and actively participate in decision-making.

Furthermore, through its programs and initiatives, the Unit strives to empower Iraqi women in various academic and professional fields, enhance their active participation in decision-making, and promote progress within Iraqi society, in line with national commitments.
