The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education Ibn Rushd/University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Pharmacy, held an awareness-raising activity in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education Ibn Rushd/University of Baghdad entitled (You are the source of life… so examine and reassure us) The activity included a lecture presented by Dr. Lubna Abdel Karim with a group of Pharm D students entitled (Early detection of breast cancer… saving a life), in addition to a poster included by the Pharm D students under the supervision of M. Mahdi Jassim flowers and symbolic artwork under the supervision of Eng. Duha Abdel-Saheb presented with a group of motivational and encouraging leaflets to perform a breast examination under the supervision of professors of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Pharmacy.
The aim of the activity was to encourage and encourage self-examination and clinical and radiological examination for early detection of breast cancer, which helps increase complete recovery rates. The activity also included highlighting the steps of the breast self-examination method, signs and risk factors, and methods of prevention to reduce the infection rate, educating women about the dangers of this disease, correcting some false rumors spread among people about breast cancer, and introducing the attendees to the free screening centers for early screening in government health institutions and the private sector under (Better Together for Awareness) initiative.
