The Information Technology Division in our college, the Ibn Rushd College of Education for Human Sciences, under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Hoda Abbas Qanbar, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Division, Professor Dr. Wassan Karim, organized a development course entitled (Raising the (citatious) for professors in academic scientific platforms) on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, for all scientific departments as part of a series of courses held periodically for all faculty members, in the presence of a number of college teachers due to the importance of the course. The course was lectured by teacher Saadia Fahd Jabbar, Director of the Information Technology Division, and Assistant Professor Dr. Raghad Abdel-Aali Aziz, Director of the Unit Professor’s magazine in our college.
The course aimed to introduce how to use citations in scientific search engines. It included several topics, including introducing search engines and how to raise the value (citatious or H-inde) on professors’ pages on Google Scholar and Search.
The course came out with a set of recommendations, including unifying search engine pages with their explicit names and accrediting the official email of the University of Baghdad in search engines, as well as uploading research published in the databases and having them approved by professors who later publish their research in the databases as sources. The goal of this is to raise the value of (citatious).
