{"id":6448,"date":"2026-09-17T00:02:29","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T00:02:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.ircoedu.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=6448"},"modified":"2026-09-17T03:39:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T03:39:10","slug":"thesis-examines-ahl-al-bayts-biography","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.ircoedu.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=6448","title":{"rendered":"Thesis Examines Ahl al-Bayt\u2019s Biography"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The College of Education Ibn Rushd for Humanities at the University of Baghdad held a discussion of a master\u2019s thesis entitled \u201cThe Biography of Ahl al-Bayt (Peace Be Upon Them) through Ibn Tulun\u2019s <em>The Twelve Imams<\/em> (d. 953 AH \/ 1546 AD)\u201d, submitted by Maha Jamal Shimal, a researcher in the Department of History, specializing in Islamic History.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Wasan Samin Mohammed, with Prof. Dr. Ghaniya Yasser Kabashi serving as a member and supervisor, and Prof. Dr. Wasan Ibrahim Hussein as a member. Prof. Dr. Asmaa Awad Atiya from the College of Basic Education at Al-Mustansiriyah University also joined the committee as an external member.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The study aimed to provide an extensive examination of Ibn Tulun\u2019s book <em>The Twelve Imams<\/em> and to explore his methodology in presenting the biographies of Ahl al-Bayt (Peace Be Upon Them).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The research reached several conclusions, most notably that Ibn Tulun al-Dimashqi al-Salihi was a prolific Hanafi scholar who lived in Damascus during the tenth century AH and authored more than seven hundred works. His methodology in <em>The Twelve Imams<\/em> was characterized by compilation, documentation, and moderation, away from sectarian bias. His objective was not to engage in polemics, but rather to present the biographies of Ahl al-Bayt as part of the shared Islamic heritage, drawing on both Sunni and Shi&#8217;a sources while maintaining scholarly accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wpa-warning wpa-image-missing-alt size-medium wp-image-6452
