<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Ibn Rushd College of Education for Humanities at the University of Baghdad held the defense of a master’s thesis entitled \u201cEvaluation of Primary School Curricula in Light of Life Skills\u201d, presented by Shireen Shihab Hameed, a master’s candidate from the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, specializing in Curriculum and Methods of Teaching.<\/p>\n
The examination committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Naz Badr Khan Abdullah, with Prof. Dr. Dawood Abdul Salam Sabri serving as both supervisor and committee member. The committee also included Prof. Dr. Shatha Adel Farman, in addition to Prof. Dr. Salah Raheef Ameer Bassa from Al-Imam Al-Kadhim (PBUH) University College as an external examiner.<\/p>\n
The study aimed to develop a comprehensive list of life skills to serve as criteria for evaluating science curricula and to assess the science curricula for the first three grades of primary education in light of these life skills.<\/p>\n
The findings revealed that the integration of life skills within science textbooks ranged from moderate to high overall. The results also indicated a clear progressive increase in the inclusion of life skills across the three grade levels, with the third-grade curriculum ranking first, followed by the second and first grades. Furthermore, the assessment dimension achieved the highest mean scores across all grades, demonstrating its effectiveness in measuring life skills, followed by the content dimension and the accompanying learning activities.<\/p>\n
