The Guidance Unit and Continuing Education, in cooperation with the National Youth Observatory Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, held a scientific seminar entitled \u201cClimate Change between Psychological Anxiety and Social Transformations.\u201d<\/em> The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Nadira Jamil and Asst. Lect. Duaa Aqeel, and was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students.<\/p>\n

The seminar was divided into several themes. The first addressed the causes of climate change, the second discussed the psychological impact of climate change on individuals, while the final theme focused on climate challenges and risks in Iraq. The seminar aimed to raise university students\u2019 awareness of health impacts, including increased rates of heat-related and respiratory diseases caused by dust storms, as well as food and water insecurity. It also highlighted environmental and social impacts, such as community cohesion and social support.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, the seminar reached several recommendations, most importantly the need to provide psychological support and guidance through participation in workshops and awareness seminars to enhance understanding and enable students to contribute to reducing climate impacts. It also emphasized the importance of caring for students by providing psychological, social, and educational support and developing strategies for adaptation and resilience in response to climate change.<\/p>\n
