The Educational Unit for Peace and Human Rights Studies at the College of Education for Humanities \u2013 Ibn Rushd, University of Baghdad, held a training course titled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Promoting Peace and Human Rights Studies”<\/strong>, from June 1 to June 3, 2025<\/strong>, at the discussion hall of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences.<\/p>\n

The course targeted faculty members and staff of the college and was delivered by Dr. Omar Saadi Salim Al-Mousawi<\/strong> and Dr. Nadia Abdul-Kadhim Salman Al-Shammari<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The course covered three main themes:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n

    The concept of human rights and its historical development<\/strong>, starting from the French Revolution.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Artificial intelligence (AI)<\/strong> as a computational technology capable of simulating human thinking and learning.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    The relationship between AI and human rights<\/strong>, highlighting how AI can either support or threaten fundamental human rights depending on its design, use, and regulation.<\/p>\n
