The College of Education has accompanied, in its long journey, the emergence of education in Iraq. It was first opened under the name “High Teachers’ College” in November 1923 AD corresponding to 1341 AH. The High Teachers’ College was named the College of Education on September 30, 1958 and was attached in the same year to the University of Baghdad. After the issuance of Law No. (29) of 1958, which made the main goal of the College of Education to be preparing male and female teachers for intermediate and secondary studies, in the academic year 1987-1988, postgraduate studies were established, Masters and PhD.<\/p>\n

The college includes seven departments:<\/p>\n
